D2CIDA Women’s Soccer - October 21

ORLANDO, Fla. – Claudia Peirce, a midfielder/forward from Franklin Pierce University (NE10), has been named the D2CIDA Women's Soccer National Player of the Week for her outstanding performance during the week of October 13–19.

Peirce delivered a dominant performance in the Ravens' 3-2 victory over nationally ranked No. 24 Adelphi on Saturday, scoring twice to propel Franklin Pierce to a key conference win. The Carver, Massachusetts native opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 10th minute, then netted the go-ahead strike in the 62nd minute to give the Ravens a 2-1 lead. She finished the match with three shots while logging 69 minutes on the pitch.

With the standout showing, Peirce now totals seven goals and two assists on the year. She has started all 13 matches this season and ranks among the Northeast-10 Conference leaders in both goals and points.

National Players of the Week are selected by a volunteer committee of Division II Conference Information Directors (D2CIDA) from a pool of nominations submitted by conference offices.
