ORLANDO, Fla. - Anne Louthan, a midfielder from Dallas Baptist University (LSC), has been named the D2CIDA Women's Soccer National Player of the Week for her outstanding performance during the week of October 6 to 12.
Louthan scored all four goals in the No. 3-ranked Patriots' 4-1 road win over UT Dallas, marking the most goals in a single game by any player in the Lone Star Conference this season and the most by a DBU player since 2012. The senior from Colorado Springs, Colorado, tied the match with a header in the 18th minute and then delivered the game-winner in the 62nd. Her eight points also stand as an LSC single-game high this season.
Louthan's dominant outing helped keep DBU perfect on the season at 11-0, further cementing the Patriots' place among the nation's top Division II programs.
National Players of the Week are selected by a volunteer committee of Division II Conference Information Directors (D2CIDA) from a pool of nominations submitted by conference offices.
