D2CIDA Men’s Soccer - October 7

ORLANDO, Fla. – Kendrick Hernandez of the University of West Florida (GSC) has been named the D2CIDA Men's Soccer National Player of the Week for his performance from September 29 to October 5. The senior from Pensacola, Florida, powered the Argonauts to a 3-0-0 week, totaling 11 points on five goals and one assist.

Hernandez opened the week with a goal in the fifth minute and an assist in the 72nd minute of UWF's 5-0 win over Pensacola Christian. He then netted an 89th-minute insurance goal in a 2-0 victory over Lee before capping the week with a hat trick in just 34 minutes during a 4-0 win against Trevecca Nazarene, scoring in the 4th, 18th, and 23rd minutes. The forward finished the week with six shots—all on target—two game-winning goals, and an average of 54.6 minutes per match.

National Players of the Week are selected by a volunteer committee of Division II Conference Information Directors from a pool of nominations submitted by conference offices.
