CLEVELAND - The National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) is proud to announce that Trip Durham, formerly at Elon University, and currently of 2D Consulting LLC, will be inducted into the Association's Hall of Fame at the 2026 NACMA Convention.
Durham will be formally inducted on Monday, June 8 during the opening ceremonies and awards presentation of #NACMA26 at Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, NV.
"The impact that Trip Durham has had on NACMA is truly extraordinary," said Zach Dayton, 2025-26 NACMA President and Assistant Vice President/Deputy Athletics Director at Fairfield University. "On behalf of the NACMA Board of Directors, I would like to congratulate Trip on this incredible and well-deserved honor. His visionary leadership of NACMA, his mentorship of many within the college athletics landscape, along with his highly successful career in our industry make him an exceptional selection for the NACMA Hall of Fame."
Trip Durham has long been recognized as one of the defining voices of collegiate athletics—serving as a signature sound of NACDA, NACMA, the ACC, and Duke football and men's baskettball. Across more than three decades in college sports marketing, Trip has influenced and inspired countless individuals as a mentor, colleague, contributor, and friend.
Nationally, within the college athletics community, Trip's name is inseparable from NACMA. For over 30 years, he has been one of the association's most dedicated leaders—volunteering his time, lending his expertise, and shaping its direction without ever seeking recognition. At NACDA conventions, his voice has become the familiar thread that connects programming, storytelling, and celebration. Few have done more to elevate the profession, and even fewer have done so with such humility.
Durham's personal and professional journey reflects a lifetime of service, growth, and impact. His path began at East Carolina University and continued through early roles in minor league baseball before he spent 14 years transforming the external profile of Elon University athletics. At Elon, he generated new revenue streams, built operating procedures, strengthened the brand, and served on the senior leadership team during the university's transition from NCAA Division II to Division I. He co-directed operations for a new on-campus football stadium and three renovated venues while navigating membership in three different conferences.
His leadership extended nationally as president of NACMA, where he guided the association through programming for the first post-Katrina convention in New Orleans and helped safeguard its resources during a major recession. In that same challenging economic climate, he launched 2D Consulting, expanding his impact by helping athletics departments strengthen their external relations. And woven throughout his career is a remarkable 25-year run behind the microphone—calling games, energizing crowds, and becoming one of the most trusted voices in college sports.
Trip Durham's legacy is defined not only by what he has accomplished, but by how he has done it: with passion, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to the people and organizations he serves.
