NACMA Launches The Black Women in Sports Marketing Empowerment Fund!

CLEVELAND, OH — The National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) has launched the Black Women in Sports Marketing Empowerment Fund to support the professional advancement of Black women in collegiate sports marketing.

Each year, the Empowerment Fund awards one recipient up to a $5,000 annual stipend, distributed in quarterly installments, to support professional development opportunities such as conferences, certifications, or continued education. The recipient will also receive personalized leadership coaching and career planning sessions, helping build a strong foundation for long-term success in the field.

The initiative was created in response to research showing that Black women experience a steep decline in career progression around the mid-manager level. NACMA aims to change that trajectory by investing in promising professionals who can rise to lead with confidence, authenticity, and impact. This program reflects NACMA's long-standing commitment to fostering diverse leadership pipelines that reflect the full spectrum of experiences and perspectives in sports marketing.

"NACMA is committed to giving our members the resources, opportunities, and support they need to grow throughout their careers," said NACMA Past President Markeisha Everett. "This fund is another way we can be intentional about creating access and investing in Black women so they have the opportunity not only to be represented in the industry, but to grow, succeed, and lead within it."
