What is one of the greatest aspects of being involved in athletics?
One of the greatest aspects of being in athletics is knowing your work actually matters. It is bigger than just the games. It is about ensuring everything behind the scenes is handled properly so student-athletes and coaches can focus on what they do best. There is just a different energy in athletics. Being around competition every day keeps you sharp and pushes you to keep leveling up.
Most memorable sporting event attended?
The most memorable sporting event I attended was the Ravens vs Chiefs game in 2018. My daughter was born the next day. After the game, I had planned to drive home, but while I was driving, her mom went into labor.
Favorite CABMA memory?
My favorite CABMA memory has to be when I went to my first NACDA, and the CABMA group went to Topgolf. I did terribly. Like really terrible. But being around like-minded individuals who all understand the grind of business operations was a great time.
What's the most important thing the CABMA membership should know about you?
The most important thing for CABMA members to know about me is that I am fully invested. I show up, I support our teams across different sports, and I care about the people behind the work. I am competitive, committed to doing things the right way, and always willing to learn and get better.
What are you looking forward to this academic year?
I am looking forward to growing this academic year. I am excited to see our work translate into results by improving our operations, taking on more responsibility, continuing to learn, and supporting our teams.
Book Recommendation?
The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz
Favorite Quote?
"I would rather be right than be king." - Cato the Younger
Best piece of professional advice you've received?
The best piece of professional advice I've received is, "Do not limit yourself to your job description. Do more than what is assigned. Learn other areas, take initiative, and add value wherever you can. That is how you grow and separate yourself."
