ORLANDO, Fla. - Kayleigh Goodrich from Adelphi University (NE10) has been named the D2CIDA Women's Soccer National Player of the Week for her performance September 8 - 14. The junior from Hicksville, New York, led the Panthers to a 2-0-0 week with wins over Holy Family and Southern Connecticut State, following 12 points from five goals and two assists.
Goodrich, the reigning NE10 Player of the Year, scored a hat trick during a 6-1 victory over Holy Family, adding an assist for a total of seven points. The forward opened the scoring in the 7th minute, then scored back-to-back goals in the 55th and 57th minutes. Goodrich then earned a brace, including the winning goal, and added an assist in Adelphi's conference-opening win against Southern Connecticut State. She scored the game-winner in the 44th minute and added an insurance goal in the 60th minute.
Currently, Goodrich leads the NE10 in goals (six), shots on goal (eighteen), and points (fourteen).
National Players of the Week are selected by a volunteer committee of Division II Conference Information Directors from a pool of nominations submitted by conference offices.
