CLEVELAND –
Stanford University has just over a seven-point lead heading into the spring Learfield Directors' Cup standings. Stanford has tallied 904.00 total points, finishing second in men's gymnastics, and tying for 17
th in women's gymnastics.

The
North Carolina Tar Heels dropped to second place with 896.75 points, while The
Ohio State Buckeyes moved up to third place with 794.75 points.

The Buckeyes finished seventh overall in men's gymnastics, 17
th in women's gymnastics and ninth in men's ice hockey to break into the top three in the final winter standings.

Rounding out the top five is
Penn State in fourth with 750.00 points and
Wisconsin in fifth with 693.70 points.

Penn State broke into the top five in the final winter standings after hovering close at the end of the fall season and the first set of winter scoring. The Nittany Lions have scored in seven winter championships, including finishing fifth overall in the most recent men's gymnastics championship and tied for third in men's ice hockey.

Scoring Structure Update for 2024-25: New this year, an additional countable sport has been added on the Division I side, bringing the total number of countable sports to five (5). On the women's side, soccer joins basketball and volleyball, while the men's side will continue to be baseball and basketball. Overall, 19 total sports are counted for the final standings in June, including the five countable sports, and the next highest 14 (max.) sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender.

At the conference level, the
Big Ten leads all Division I conferences with nine institutions in the top-25 – Ohio State (3
rd), Penn State (4
th), Wisconsin (5
th), Michigan (6
th), USC (7
th), Nebraska (8
th), Minnesota (15
th), Oregon (18
th) and Illinois (25
th).
