CEFMA Now Accepting Board Applications

The Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA) is currently seeking candidates for leadership positions on the Board of Directors.

The CEFMA Board of Directors is an active group of event and facility administrators, which includes the Officers of the Association. The Board jointly oversees the activities of CEFMA and its committees. The individuals elected to serve on the Board are expected to display a commitment to CEFMA and its mission statement, with an aim at a diverse representation of CEFMA's membership.

CEFMA Board members serve a minimum four (4) year term, in this year's case July 2025 – June 2029. During the course of their Board term, an individual will be expected to:

  • Participate in three (3) in-person meetings per year (one at the time/place of the annual Convention; the other in mid-April at a TBD location);
  • Actively participate on monthly Board and committee meetings to ensure the continued forward progress of CEFMA goals & initiatives;
  • Participate as a chair or vice chair of one of CEFMA's subcommittees.
There are currently five (5) open Board positions to be filled. In order to be considered, a candidate MUST serve his or her institution or conference/association office as an area director within the collegiate athletics facilities and/or events sector and must be committed to working in collegiate athletics over the course of the next four (4) years.  

The ideal candidate will also:
  • Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the collegiate athletics facilities and/or events sector; inclusive of area leadership
  • Have been an active member in CEFMA for a minimum of three (3) years
  • Active membership in CEFMA includes, but is not limited to, participation in any of the following categories:
    • Engagement in the CEFMA Member Community
    • Participation in various social media activities;
    • Participation in the CEFMA Mentorship Program;
    • Nominator or recipient of CEFMA awards (i.e. Event/Facility Manager of the Year, stipend opportunities);
    • Service on a CEFMA subcommittee;
    • Service as a CEFMA Member Ambassador;
    • Attendance/participation during virtual educational opportunities;
    • Attendance at the Annual Convention and/or Regional Conferences;
Additional consideration will be given to:
  • Individuals who have served as a NCAA Championship Site Rep and/or assisted with NCAA or Conference Championship events (hosted or neutral site);
  • Individuals who have served on NCAA or conference committees;
  • Individuals who have assumed leadership roles in other organizations;
  • Individuals who have had sport supervision opportunities;
  • Individuals who have contributed to the development of industry best practices

Following an initial review by the current CEFMA leadership, finalists will then be invited to participate in individual Zoom interviews to further discuss their interest and qualifications.
