CLEVELAND - Each month NADIIIAA is showcasing stories from the NADIIIAA Community about a different theme. The theme for the month of April is
SAAC Stories. Today's story features Arcadia University and their Sportsfest.
The Arcadia University Student-Athlete Advisory

Committee (SAAC) concluded NCAA Division III Week with their Sportsfest in conjunction with Montgomery County Rotary Special Athletes. "SAAC and the Arcadia Athletics Department are excited to continue our partnership with Special Olympics PA and Rotary Special Athletes." said
Oliver Moe, Arcadia's coordinator of student-athlete success and leadership and the department's SAAC advisor. "At this year's Sportsfest, we celebrated the fact that Arcadia University has a working relationship with Rotary Special Athletes for over 30 years; this tradition is a testament to the hard work of
Kerry Leraris '92 MEd '94,
Stephanie Doyle '06 MEd 08, and many more involved alumni who help provide opportunities for our student-athletes to continue being engaged for a good cause in our community.
38 Montgomery Rotary Special Athletes joined 64 Arcadia student-athletes for a day of sports, food, and fun as members of Arcadia's softball, women's track and field, baseball, women's and men's volleyball, field hockey, women's basketball, women's soccer, women's and men's tennis, women's and men's swimming, and women's and men's ice hockey. The schedule included soccer, volleyball, basketball, swimming, lunch, dancing, and relay races. "Sportsfest is one of the last events that we host as SAAC and it is the perfect event to wrap our year," said SAAC President
Riley Ratcliffe, a senior on the Knights women's soccer team. "The Special Olympics athletes and our Arcadia athletes had a blast. It was amazing to see everyone work together to play sports and do relay races; one of the athletes said it 'was the best day ever' and I couldn't agree more!"

Student-Athletes once again volunteered time every week with the Montgomery County Special Olympics in Bryn Athyn. "I thought the event was a huge success and seeing the Special Olympics Athletes faces light up with joy made organizing this event worth every second spent planning it all out," said SAAC Vice President and men's volleyball senior
Owen Heft. "It was also amazing to see such a great turnout from a wide variety of Arcadia athletes, with so many teams represented by the ample and eager amount of volunteers that came out to help with this event."
