CLEVELAND - The
National Association of Division III Athletics Administrators (NADIIIAA) is proud to announce
Lori Runksmeier, Director of Athletics and Recreation at Eastern Connecticut State University, as the recipient of the prestigious Richard A. Rasmussen Lifetime Achievement Award.
Runksmeier's career spans 35 years of dedicated service to NCAA Division III athletics. She began her journey in intercollegiate athletics as a coach and assistant at three NCAA Division II institutions before transitioning to leadership roles that have shaped the landscape of Division III. From 1999 to 2015, she served as Director of Athletics and Recreation at New England College, where she expanded athletic offerings, spearheaded facility upgrades, and emphasized student-athlete leadership and development. Since 2015, Runksmeier has led Eastern Connecticut State University to become one of the top-performing programs in the Little East Conference, overseeing championship success, national recognition, and significant facility enhancements.
Beyond her campus leadership, Runksmeier has been a pillar of service within NCAA governance and NADIIIAA. Her extensive committee involvement includes serving as Chair of the NCAA Division III Management Council (2014–2016) and President of NADIIIAA (2020–2021). She has contributed to numerous NCAA committees, including Interpretations & Legislation, Budget, and Women's Ice Hockey, consistently demonstrating a commitment to advancing Division III athletics.

The Richard A. Rasmussen Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to NCAA Division III athletics throughout their careers. Lori Runksmeier's legacy of excellence and advocacy for student-athletes makes her a truly deserving recipient.
2026 NADIIIAA award recipients will be formally recognized during the NADIIIAA reception at the NCAA Convention in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, January 15, at 4:30 p.m. EST.
