CLEVELAND –
Indiana Wesleyan University becomes just the ninth different institution to take home the LEARFIELD Directors' Cup, capturing first for the 2021-22 year with 890.00 overall points. Prior to the COVID year in 2019-20, the Wildcats were in the top-five three of the previous four years, and finished third overall in the 2020-21 standings, their highest finish prior to this year.
Overall, Indiana Wesleyan scored in 15 total sports, including three of the four sports that must be counted towards the final standings (women's basketball, men's basketball, and women's volleyball). The Wildcats highest finish came in cheer where they finished as runner-up. Three sport scores were omitted due to only 9 additional sports counting towards the overall total.
Keiser is second overall with 839.00 total points and took home four national championships (men's soccer, men's and women's swimming and diving, and men's golf), while also tallying runner-up finishes in men's and women's tennis. Five total scores were not counted due to the maximum number of sports that are able to be counted.
Grand View continues to move up in the final standings the past few years, jumping from 7
th at the end of last season to 3
rd overall this year with 818.25 total points. The Vikings were the lone top-10 institution to score in all four sports that must be counted in the final standings - men's basketball, men's soccer, women's basketball and women's volleyball. Grand View took home two national championships, wrestling and men's volleyball.
Indiana Tech took home a pair of national championships (men's bowling and women's indoor track and field), finishing fourth overall with 784.00 total points. The Warriors scored in 13 total sports, having to omit one score (women's tennis), after scoring in 10 sports outside of the countable sports.
Rounding out the top-five is
Southeastern with 742.00 total points, capturing the baseball national championship. The Fire also had four top-three finishes – women's basketball, wrestling, softball and men's outdoor track and field. Southeastern scored in 14 total sports, not utilizing overall points in women's indoor track and field, women's soccer and women's golf.

The Sun Conference led all conferences with a trio of institutions in the top-10.

SCORING REMINDER
Overall, 13 sports are counted in the final NAIA standings, four of which must be men's basketball, men's soccer, women's basketball and women's volleyball. The next highest (9 max.) sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender, are used in the standings.
