National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators (NADIIIAA) is proud to announce
Tim Gleason, former commissioner of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) as the recipient of the 2022 Richard A. Rasmussen Lifetime Achievement Award.
This award, which is named after past NADIIIAA Executive Director Dick Rasmussen, is presented to someone who has had a significant impact on Division III throughout the course of his/her career.
In 2021, Gleason retired as commissioner of the OAC, joining only a handful of full-time commissioners in NCAA history to reach the 30-year milestone of serving a single multi-sport conference. Gleason served on 17 NCAA and other national committees, including the Division III Management Council. He was a founding Officer of NADIIIAA.Â
Gleason was President of the Division III Commissioners Association (DIIICA) in 2005-07 and is known as the father of the NCAA Conference Grant Program. He received the DIIICA Dan Dutcher Meritorious Service Award in 2008 and the Dennis Collins Lifetime Achievement Award during the January 2021 NCAA Convention – Gleason's 40
th NCAA Convention in his 42-year career.

Prior to joining the OAC in 1991, Gleason was assistant executive director of NACDA for eight years. He later served the organization as parliamentarian, secretary and Executive Committee member, the only individual ever to serve in all four of those capacities. While at NACDA, Gleason became the first president (21 years) of the Northeastern Ohio Chapter of the National Football Foundation.Â

Gleason, a native of Pittsburgh, graduated with a bachelor's degree from St. Thomas University in 1979 and earned a master's degree from Cleveland State University in 1986. He and his wife, Sherry, have three children and four grandchildren.
