CLEVELANDÂ - The Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA) is pleased to announce the 2021-21 recipients of its Founders' Professional Development Grant, given to one male and one female MOAA member, each in the amount of $1,000. The recipients of this year's grants are
Erika LeFlore from Florida Memorial University (FMU) and
Justin Robinson at Maryville University.
LeFlore currently serves as the associate athletics director of internal operations/senior woman administrator at FMU.
Prior to her move to Florida, she was the head volleyball coach and assistant basketball coach at Tougaloo College from 2016-21. In addition to her coaching duties, she was an administrator under the director of athletics, and an adjunct instructor in the Health and Physical Education Department.
Before Tougaloo, LeFlore worked as the academic coordinator in sports administration and was an adjunct instructor at Belhaven University.
LeFlore earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Belhaven, while playing basketball for four years for the Blazers. She also played one year of volleyball. In May 2022, she will receive her doctorate from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Robinson is the facilities and game management coordinator at Maryville and helps administer over 22 varsity sports at the Division II university.
During his supervision of more than 70 student employees, Robinson uses a student-first philosophy to inject energy into the workplace with a focus on helping put the workers in places to succeed.
Robinson graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in sport management and finished his master's degree in business administration in 2019 from Saint Louis University. In addition to those degrees, he is currently on pace to graduate with another master's degree in August 2022, Master of Science in Data Analytics degree.
