Advice to Current Athletics Administrators?
  • Get involved in NATYCAA, NACDA and as many professional organizations as time permits as a way to learn and grow.
  • Treat people as you would like to be treated
  • Set short-term, intermediate-term, and long-term goals; make a road map to achieve those goals.
  • Create an up-to-date Department Manual which is a guide of "how things are done" in the department. Make sure to update it annually.
  • Ask each employee how you can help them be more successful in their job.
  • Have a group of mentors that you can seek advice from and mentor young professionals to pass along your knowledge.
