2026 L William Miller Award

National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrators

Christina Hundley Named L. William Miller Award Recipient

CLEVELAND - The National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) has announced Christina Hundley, athletics director at Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC), as the 2026 recipient of the Association's L. William Miller Award.

The L. William Miller Award is presented annually to a member of NATYCAA who demonstrates excellence in leadership, service, and integrity in an athletics program at a two-year college or organization. The award is named after Miller, one of NATYCAA's Founding Fathers who enjoyed an illustrious career at St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley, where he coached track and cross country from 1966-73 and was the director of athletics from 1966 through his retirement in 1994.

"Christina epitomizes the definition of the L William Miller Award with her excellence in leadership, service and integrity," said Colin Preston, NATYCAA Past President and Dean of Kinesiology/Athletics at Cypress College. "She has been vital to the growth and development of NATYCAA since she joined the association. Christina puts her heart and soul into the association and NACDA and we are all grateful for what she has done, but also excited about how much she will contribute in the future."

"Receiving the NATYCAA L. William Miller Award is a humbling honor," stated Hundley. "It is made especially meaningful being recognized by respected two-year college athletics peers.  This award reflects the mentors, colleagues, and student-athletes who inspire me and give purpose to the work we all do in two-year athletics.  I accept this honor with heartfelt gratitude and immense pride."

Hundley has built a distinguished career in intercollegiate athletics through her commitment to leadership, service, and integrity. She has made a lasting impact on two-year college athletics, most notably during her tenure as President of the National Association of Two-Year College Athletics Administrators (NATYCAA). In that role, she set a new standard for the organization by restructuring its constitution, streamlining operations, and strengthening its long-term foundation. Hundley has been a trusted mentor and advocate for her peers, consistently demonstrating a servant-leader mindset and a deep commitment to the future of NATYCAA. She continues her national service as Secretary of NACDA, is a member of the NACDA Executive Committee and still serves on the NATYCAA Executive Committee. Additionally, Hundley earned widespread recognition by being named a National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Athletics Director of the Year for 2023–24.

In October 2015, Hundley was named AD at PVCC, after joining the department in 2008. Throughout her tenure, she has led with vision and integrity, which shows with her leadership roles across numerous conference and national committees, including roles with the following:

  • NJCAA – Region 1 Men's Director, Eligibility Committee, DII Men's Soccer Committee Vice Chair, DII Softball Committee, DII Men's Golf Committee, DII Women's Golf Committee
  • Past President – NATYCAA and the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC)
  • Maricopa County Community College District – Athletics Council Chair (2020-21, 2021-22), helped the District navigate the challenges of COVID-19 in intercollegiate athletics.

Beyond her administrative accomplishments, Hundley has made a profound impact through community engagement and philanthropy. She is the co-founder of Pat's Run, an annual event honoring her friend and former classmate Pat Tillman. Since its inception in 2005, the event has grown to more than 30,000 participants and has raised over $22 million to support the Pat Tillman Foundation and its Tillman Scholars program, benefiting over 900 military veterans and their families.
Hundley's career reflects a lifelong dedication to athletics, education, and service, leaving a meaningful and lasting impact on student-athletes, colleagues, and the broader athletics community.
