The Hall of Fame induction will take place during the NACMA Kickoff Session on Monday, June 12.
"On behalf of the NACMA Officers and Board of Directors, we welcome Bob Vecchione to the NACMA Hall of Fame," said NACMA President, Joni Smoller, Assistant Athletics Director of Fan Experiences & Sales at Kansas State University. "As the Executive Director at NACDA, Bob has had a tremendous impact on the growth of NACMA, and we are grateful for his support of our organization."
Prior to becoming executive director of NACDA, Vecchione was responsible for orchestrating the growth and management of the Association, both internally and externally. During his tenure, NACDA has initiated a multitude of programs that provide value-added benefits to the ever increasing membership and has continually upgraded NACDA's technological capabilities to better serve its constituencies.
"Bob Vecchione has been the single strongest catalyst in identifyings, structuring, mobilizing, and sustaining new revenue streams to grow both NACDA and the family of affiliates," said Joe Castiglione, Director of Athletics at the University of Oklahoma. "If one were to analyze our massive Convention alone, one would see the rewards of building relationships with key stakeholders to support the mission of all these organizations as well as serve a need for professional development for its members."
Prior to joining NACDA, Vecchione served for two years as the assistant athletics director for media relations for the men's department at the University of Minnesota, where he was also the executive director of the 1992 Twin Cities Final Four Organizing Committee.
