NCAA DIVISION II NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Tuesday, February 3, 2026
MEN: Bryson Lucas, 6-7, R-Jr., California (Pa.)
Hometown: Clarksburg, West Virginia
A solid all-around performance in two Vulcan wins last week earned Lucas the honor, as he averaged 28.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, two assists, four steals and a block in those contests. He shot 59 percent from the field, made seven of his 14 three-point shots and went six-of-seven at the line over the course of the week.
Lucas started his week with a 27-point, nine-rebound effort as California (15-5) picked up a critical 84-77 road win over Indiana (Pa.), a game in which he also finished with five steals, four assists and a blocked shot. His three[1]pointer with 4:06 remaining gave the Vulcans the lead for good and he also went four-of-four at the line down the stretch. On Saturday in a 79-68 win over Pittsburgh-Johnstown, Lucas scored a season-high 30 points and had 12 rebounds and three steals – his fourth double-double of the season – as he was 12-of-19 from the floor and connected four times from beyond the arc. Lucas was named as Player of the Week in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division.
