NATYCAA Scholar-Athlete of The Year Award Nominations Now Open!

CLEVELAND - NATYCAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award sponsored by Risk Strategies is accepting nominations. This prestigious award aims to recognize outstanding student-athletes from two-year colleges who excel not only in athletics but also in academics, leadership, and community service. 

The candidate's nomination must be submitted by the Athletics Director to the NATYCAA District Representative. Institutions are limited to one male and one female nominee. The Deadline for nominations is March 31st.

Criteria for Nomination:

  • Minimum 3.6 GPA on a 4.0 scale, with at least 36 semester hours or 45 quarter hours, and a minimum of 24 semester/36 quarter hours at the nominating institution.
  • Participation in a minimum of one complete season of varsity competition at the nominating institution.
  • Outstanding athletics success at the college level, with documentation of appropriate statistics and/or athletic accomplishments. Honorable mentions for All-Conference or All-Region recognition are required.
  • Demonstrated qualities of leadership and citizenship.
  • Spring sport athletes may be considered for nomination the following year.

Nomination Process:

  • The candidate's nomination must be submitted by the Athletics Director using the link below.
  • The nomination form must be completed and include the following:
    • A listing of athletics accomplishments
    • Athletics director recommendation
    • Academic staff/advisor recommendation, and;
    • two photos (one action and one headshot) (Headshot minimum 300 dpi).
  • Institutions are limited to one male and one female nominee.

Please consider nominating deserving student-athletes from your districts that embody the spirit of this award.
