CLEVELAND – The National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) is accepting applications for the Model Practices and Research Awards. Each award winner will receive $500 and an opportunity to present at the 2026 N4A Convention in June.

Model Practices Award
The Model Practices Award is presented annually to a university or college that displays best practices in their academic and student-athlete development programming.
N4A will recognize two (2) Model Practices Award recipients – one in the area of academics and one in the area of student-athlete development.
Entries can be made by an individual, group, or an entire staff. Entries should demonstrate the program's effectiveness through the submission of a 3,000-word (maximum) narrative that outlines the following components:
- Goals & Objectives
- Program Description
- Program Evaluation
- Program Outcomes
- Potential for Adaptation
- Challenges & Obstacles

Dr. Gerald S. Gurney Research Award
This award is presented to raise awareness for the need for updated research on educating and serving student-athletes every year.
The Research Committee invites practitioners, scholars, and graduate students alike to submit a paper for award consideration. Two (2) recipients will be selected – one for Student-Athlete Development/Life Skills and the other for all other research related to the profession.
