ORLANDO, Fla. – Callum Stokes of Lander (PBC) has been named the D2CIDA Men's Soccer National Player of the Week for his performance from October 27-November 2. The sophomore forward from Reading, England, led the Bearcats to a pair of league victories, including a 5-1 victory over No. 19 North Georgia, to help Lander secure the second seed in the PBC Tournament.
Stokes totaled eight points on four goals in two matches. He opened the week with a hat-trick against North Georgia. His three goals and six points set new game-highs in PBC play in both categories this season. Then, in a 3-0 win over USCA, Stokes added another goal to bring his season tally to six.
Stokes is currently tied for the fourth-most goals in the PBC, and he's averaging 2.38 shots per game, tied for the fourth-most in the conference.
National Players of the Week are selected by a volunteer committee of Division II Conference Information Directors from a pool of nominations submitted by conference offices.
