CLEVELAND – The Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA) has selected Tim Wise, senior associate AD at the University of Notre Dame, to begin the first year of his two-year term as MOAA President. Wise will have now served as President for two NACDA affiliate associations, previously serving as President for the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA) during the 2015-16 membership year.
"I am excited and honored to serve as the President of MOAA," said Wise. "As the premier organization for athletic administrators from underrepresented groups and allies, we must continue to be advocates and voices for diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. As we embark on our 25th anniversary, our focus remains and is even stronger for serving our membership, providing them opportunities to educate, develop, support, recognize and celebrate individually, collectively and being champions for all. We are at a critical juncture in our industry and in society and we must all work together for change and be leaders for providing access and opportunities. MOAA is at the forefront of this everyday, leading the way. I am excited for the year ahead and our membership."
In addition to Wise, serving on the Executive Committee are the following members:
- Vice President – Angel Mason, director of athletics, Berry College;
- Executive Committee – Stevie Baker Watson, associate VP for student wellness and Theodore Katula director of athletics and recreational sports at DePauw University
- Executive Committee – Cheryl Wong, associate commissioner, Big West Conference; and
- Executive Committee – Davon Robb, senior associate AD at Rice University
In addition, MOAA Executive Director Emeritus Stan Johnson, president of Stan Johnson & Associates, also serves on the Executive Committee in an ex-officio capacity.

In February, the MOAA Board of Directors announced the appointments of Reyna Gilbert Lowry, executive associate AD/inclusive excellence and alumni engagement, Virginia Tech; Lenny Kaplan, associate vice president/director of athletics, New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT); Deborah Rodgers, deputy chief athletics director, Tuskegee; and Ayanna Tweedy, athletics director, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
