NACDA to Honor Daktronics as 2024 Robert Vecchione Corporate Partner Award Recipient

CLEVELAND – The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) announced that the Association's longtime annual sponsor Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, has been selected as the 2024 Robert Vecchione Corporate Partner Award recipient.

The partnership between NACDA and Daktronics originally began in 1994 and continues to thrive today as the organizations adapt and work together to best serve the membership amidst the changing landscape of intercollegiate athletics.

"Daktronics has been a valuable and trusted partner for three decades and has shown steadfast support as the NACDA family has grown," said NACDA Chief Executive Officer Pat Manak. "The longstanding relationships that have been built on both sides have allowed us to positively impact countless athletics administrators across the country, not just during the Convention, but year-round."

"Our partnership with NACDA has been filled with shared visions and countless milestones as we've worked side by side to enhance the collegiate sports experience across the country," said Daktronics Vice President of Live Events and Spectaculars Jay Parker. "We are very appreciative to receive the 2024 Robert Vecchione Corporate Partner Award and we look forward to many more years of working together to achieve the success and advancement of college athletics."

Daktronics will be formally recognized as the winner of the Robert Vecchione Corporate Partner Award in conjunction with the 59th Annual NACDA & Affiliates Convention at Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, Nev., at the beginning of the Association-Wide Featured Session on Monday, June 10, starting at 4 p.m.

The Robert Vecchione Corporate Partner Award was established in 2023, in recognition of Chief Executive Officer Emeritus Bob Vecchione and his three decades of service to NACDA. The award recognizes a corporate individual, organization, sponsor or company that has displayed unwavering support to NACDA and its members, exhibiting a commitment to the betterment of intercollegiate athletics through their tireless efforts and professionalism.

Vecchione retired December 31, 2022, after serving NACDA as CEO since 2011 and multiple senior roles in the organization since 1992. Prior to taking over as CEO, Vecchione was responsible for orchestrating the growth and management of the Association, both internally and externally. One of the cornerstones of his career with NACDA is the establishment of NACDA's corporate sponsorship structure that has been significantly enhanced over the past three decades.
