CLEVELAND – The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) announced that it has entered into a multi-year partnership with nationally-recognized insurance company Allstate. The goal of this partnership is to increase and enhance the community impact of collegiate student-athletes from all sports and levels of competition.

"NACDA's new partnership with Allstate and the creation of the Good Works Team provides another avenue for our Association to highlight the inspiring and impressive things that are happening in college athletics during a time of transition in our industry," said NACDA President Ross Bjork, Senior Vice President and Wolfe Foundation-Eugene Smith Endowed Athletics Director at The Ohio State University. "Student-athletes on campuses of all sizes across the country are making a difference in their communities and it is important that their stories are told on a national stage. We appreciate the support of Allstate and their commitment to this cause."

"Allstate shares the mission of collegiate athletics to build champions on and off the field," said Elizabeth Brady, Allstate's chief marketing, customer and communications officer. "This partnership with NACDA furthers our nearly two-decade commitment to college athletics by celebrating the incredible contributions student-athletes make in communities across the country."

For the past 33 years, the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team has recognized 22 college football players annually who give back to their communities. The Allstate NACDA Good Works Team expands this recognition to include all sports and all divisions – NCAA Divisions I, II, III, NAIA and Junior/Community Colleges. Beginning this winter sports season, Allstate and NACDA will host a nomination and selection process to honor 60 additional student-athletes across the winter, spring and fall sports seasons. The goal of this program is to provide recognition for these future community leaders, their teams, academic institutions, and the communities they support.

The nomination process for the inaugural Allstate NACDA Good Works Team (Winter) is now open – click here to access the nomination form. Institutions are permitted to submit up to one male and one female candidate for each winter sport sponsored by their department. Student-athlete nominees should have completed a minimum of one year (two semesters) of college level work at a two-year and/or four-year institution. All nominations for the winter team must be submitted through the nomination form by the deadline of Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 8 p.m. EST.

The Allstate NACDA Good Works Team (Winter) will honor a total of 20 student-athletes (10 male and 10 female) across all sports and all divisions, who make outstanding contributions in the community. These individuals embody the true spirit of teamwork and giving back through commendable acts of philanthropy.

A Selection Committee comprised of representatives from Allstate and NACDA, sitting athletics directors at institutions from multiple divisions, as well as ESPN's Sam Acho and Holly Rowe, will assist in narrowing the candidates and ultimately selecting the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team members. One exemplary student-athlete will later be awarded captain of the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team (Winter). This nomination and selection process will then be repeated for the Spring 2025 and Fall 2025 teams.
