The NACMA Board of Directors and Awards Committee are pleased to launch the 2023 Marketing Team of the Year Award (MTOY), presented by PrestoSports, which will be calculated through the revamped 2022-23 NACMA "Best Of" Awards Program, presented by Old Hat.
Through results of recent membership surveys, NACMA leadership has decided to adjust the nomination, submission and award process for the MTOY, presented by PrestoSports. The goals of the adjustments are to align the awards categories with today's collegiate marketing landscape, to provide for an easier submission process, to allow for transparency through the judging process and to encourage more submissions by creating a MTOY per group.
The MTOY, presented by PrestoSports, will be awarded to the institution with the highest sum of the 20 "Best Of" Awards categories. There will be a Marketing Team of the Year Award winner in Group 1, Group 2 and Group 3.
This year, there will be a new scoring system, as well as updated awards categories. There are four overall categories, each of which will have five (5) subcategories for which a Gold, Silver, and Bronze winner will be awarded across all three (3) groups. The winners in four (4) of the subcategories will be chosen by the NACMA membership and referred to as the "People's Choice." Those "People's Choice" categories are Single-Game Attendance/Sell Out Campaign, Student Engagement, Social Media Campaign/ Initiative and Quick Sales Campaign. The categories and associated point totals are listed below:
- Fan Development (25 points)
- Brand Management (25 points)
- Revenue Generation (25 points)
- Overall Campaigns (75 points)
The highest scoring team in each group, after all 150 points are tallied, will be named the Marketing Teams of the Year.
The Awards Committee has included a set of
criteria on which each submission will be judged. This criterion was established to maintain transparency through the judging process and provide further guidance to the membership.

The deadline to submit the entries is
Friday, April 14 at 12:00 p.m. ET but all members are encouraged to upload best practices throughout the year. Submissions will be accepted for events taking place following the deadline to submit in the previous academic year through the current years deadline (April 13).
We strongly encourage you to start submitting weeks in advance to ensure the NACMA office receives all of your submissions.
Each institution is tasked with assigning ONE primary contact member. Other members of a marketing team may complete the submission form, but they would be considered the SUBMITTER. The primary contact and the submitter may be the same person.
