CLEVELANDÂ
– As the impact of name, image and likeness (NIL) continues to be felt industry-wide in college athletics, the
National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) announced plans for enhanced educational offerings focused on NIL throughout the 2023-24 academic year, culminating with the second
NIL Educational Seminar that will take place during the NACDA & Affiliates Convention Week, June 9-12, 2024, at Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas.
Â
Comprised of a variety of content including a series of on-demand webinars, written articles and in-person sessions, NACDA's NIL Educational Programming will once again feature  topics geared toward NIL at both the macro and micro levels, for both Division I and small schools, with guidance provided directly from professional practitioners and campus administrators.
Â
"NACDA remains dedicated to its mission of providing education and professional development for its members across the board, especially as the college athletics landscape evolves so rapidly," said NACDA President
Patrick Chun, athletics director at Washington State University (WSU). "Continuing the NIL Educational Programming into a second year will benefit athletics administrators everywhere as they work to stay up-to-date on NIL best practices that can assist them on campus."
Â
The programming will be planned and facilitated by NACDA with assistance from
Kristi Dosh, founder of Business of College Sports. Three on-demand webinars will be launched during the fall semester (October, November and December), and three will be launched during the spring semester (March, April and May). These virtual programming sessions will be delivered in a Part One, Part Two format and will cover the topics of:
- Licensing / Multimedia Rights
- Group Licensing
- International Student-Athletes and NIL
In addition to virtual programming, Dosh will author long-form articles to appear in
Athletics Administration magazine. These features will also examine current trends and best practices relative to NIL, for administrators, student-athletes, and collectives alike.
Â
This comprehensive content calendar will culminate with the NIL Educational Seminar on-site at the 2024 NACDA & Affiliates Convention. In its inaugural year, the seminar attracted more than 150 administrators, and will again be offered as an additional registration option for Convention attendees. More information on dates, times, topics and room locations for the seminar will be made available prior to Convention registration launch in early February 2024.
Â
The NIL Educational Programming suite will be designed for and accessible by current NACDA & Affiliates members only. To ensure your membership is renewed for 2023-24, visit
