CLEVELAND –Â
Trace Wilgus, senior associate AD-internal affairs at Vanderbilt University, will move from 1
st vice president of the
 National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) to President for the 2022-23 membership year.
"I want to thank Jason Leonard for his dedication and leadership to NAACÂ the past four years," stated
Wilgus. "It was great to be back in person in June and I look forward to working with the Board of Directors and continuing the momentum heading into the upcoming year."
Additionally,Â
Shoshanna Engel Lewis, deputy athletics director for governance and student services/SWA at Brown University, will serve as the 1
st VP;
Kristy Bannon, senior associate AD-compliance & student-athlete affairs at Temple University, moves into the 2
nd VP role and
Alic'a Oliver, associate AD-compliance at the University of North Texas (UNT) will serve as the new 3
rd vice president for the upcoming year. Oliver is the first woman of color to serve as an Officer for NAAC.
Immediate Past PresidentÂ
Jason Leonard, executive director of compliance at the University of Oklahoma (OU), will continue to serve in a leadership capacity throughout the next year.
The following individuals will join the NAAC Board for the first time in 2022-23:
- Advancement Chair – Kyle Siemer, assistant AD-compliance, Texas Tech University
- Division II Chair – Mea Felps-Darley, assistant AD for compliance/SWA, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
- Professional Development Chair – Taurian Houston, senior associate AD-compliance & administration, Rice University
- NCAA Representative – Brynna Barnhart, managing director of enforcement, NCAA
The four individuals listed above will join the Officers and the individuals listed below on the 2022-23 NAAC Board:
- At-large Board members - Tom Mitchell, associate AD, Purdue University; Eric Nepomuceno, Deputy AD/COO, UNLV
- CCACA Representative - Michael Sainte, senior director of compliance and membership services, Big East Conference
- Communications chair - Marra Hvozdovic, director of compliance, Atlantic Coast Conference
- Convention chair - Paia LaPalombara, assistant athletics director for compliance, The Ohio State University
- DI Reasonable Standards chair - Kelly Cruttenden, Associate AD, University at Buffalo
- Division II Reasonable Standards chair – Jessica Harbison Weaver, senior associate commissioner/SWA, PacWest Conference
- Education chair – Peter Prigge, associate AD for compliance/Olympics sports, University of Wyoming
- Legislation and Governance chair - Blake Barlow, associate AD, University of Texas
- Membership and Awards chair - Kristina Minor, associate athletics director for compliance, Northwestern University
- NCAA Representative - Andy Louthain, associate director of Academic and Membership Affairs, NCAA
