NACMA Announces University of Maryland as 2020 Marketing Team of the Year Winner, Presented by SuperFan!

CLEVELAND, OH- The National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) has announced University of Maryland as its 2020 Marketing Team of the Year Award (MTOY) recipient, presented by SuperFan.

In its eighth year, the nominations for the Marketing Team of the Year Award spanned across various institutions throughout our Association's membership. The two finalists for the 2020 MTOY were the University of Texas and the University of Washington.

"Congratulations to the University of Maryland for winning this year's Marketing Team of The Year Award! This is the second time that Maryland has won since the implementation of the award back in 2011. It shows a commitment to excellence in brand management, revenue generation & fan development," stated Ryan Ivey, current NACMA President and director of athletics at Stephen F. Austin State University. "We thank SuperFan for their partnership and the opportunity to showcase the hard work, innovation and creativity of some amazing collegiate marketing administrators and external teams across the country!"
 
The Marketing Team of the Year Award was created by NACMA to show the significant impact a marketing team has not only on the athletics department, but the campus and surrounding community. The Selection Committee was made up of NACMA Past Presidents. The University of Maryland will receive the prestigious NACMA MTOY Trophy to keep in their offices and were announced during the 2020 NACMA Virtual Awards Ceremony on May 27. This is the second time the Terrapins have won this coveted award as they were also named the 2015 Marketing Team of the Year.
