Recipients receive convention stipends to attend the 2011 NAADD Convention, which takes place from June 16-18 at the World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando, Fla.
"The NAADD Diversity Initiative Program allows our association to provide a quality professional development opportunity to top-flight minority and female administrators that are both members of our association and looking to further their careers in intercollegiate athletics development," stated NAADD President Marija Pientka, associate athletics director for development, University of Wisconsin. "Our Diversity Initiative Committee, which consists of Phillip McAlpin, director of athletics development at North Carolina A&T State University, and Doug Knuth, associate athletics director for external relations at the University of Utah, did a fantastic job of publicizing and promoting this initiative.
