Foundations of Fundraising Program

NAADD NCAA FOF 2021

The NCAA Leadership Development department, in conjunction with the National Association of Athletic Development Directors, will offer a new educational program tailored specifically to women and ethnic minorities interested in learning more about athletics fundraising and development.

The NCAA Foundations of Fundraising program will educate future leaders on fundraising and development principles; strengthen their leadership practices; introduce them to speakers who can provide first-person career experiences; and present attendees with case studies and projects to further assist with learning. The program is structured to introduce athletics fundraising as a career path possibility and present the industry as a forward step to senior level positions.  Interns, graduate assistants, and those early in their careers at NCAA schools and the national office will have the opportunity to apply for the program.

"For almost 30 years, NAADD has had a rich history of providing educational opportunities for its members at all levels across the fundraising profession," said Markus Jennings, NAADD president and deputy director of athletics/chief operating officer at the University of Akron. "We look forward to partnering with the NCAA to add additional programs for the current and future leaders of intercollegiate athletics fundraising. The Foundations of Fundraising program should greatly enhance the pipeline of qualified female and minority candidates as more of our veteran fundraisers have opportunities to move into leadership positions on their campuses."

Individuals can register for the program through November 1. To learn more and for registration details, visit www.ncaa.org/foundations-of-fundraising. The Foundations of Fundraising program will officially begin in January 2022.
