CLEVELAND – TheÂ
International Collegiate Licensing Association (ICLA) is proud to announceÂ
Shelly Terry, executive director, licensing, strategic partnerships and retail engagement at Duke University, as President for the 2026-27 membership year.
"Like the adage, 'Jack of all trades, master of none, but better than a master of one,' collegiate licensing not only tolerates but requires professionals who are well-versed in many industries," said Terry. "The dynamic field of trademark licensing spans pop culture, law, business, fashion, academia, athletics, corporate and social responsibility, among others, and thrives on individuals who can find the convergent spaces where profit, promotion, and preservation of iconic brands intersect. Upon entering trademark licensing, I was elated to learn of the International Collegiate Licensing Association, an organization uniquely designed to support professionals, where 'duties as assigned' can include anything from hiring a dog blogger to launching international product lines."
Â
"Through my time in the membership, I have grown professionally through event attendance, mentorship programming, and eventual committee and board service," stated Terry. "I am honored to usher in new milestones, both personally  as a 'first',  and for our organization as the next ICLA president. As we hail the 25th year of ICLA, I recognize the significance of this pivotal moment in our industry and am appreciative of the trust my colleagues have placed in me. In an ever-evolving climate, I look forward to working with fellow board members and the broader membership to determine relevant programming and initiatives. The legacy of past leadership can be seen through our association's commitment to education, innovation, and growth. I am excited to extend that history and deepen our impact. I thank the membership for entrusting me with the opportunity to serve."
