Division I-AAA ADA Announces 2024-25 Officers and Executive Committee

CLEVELAND – The Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association (DI-AAA ADA) has selected Steve Watson, director of athletics at Loyola University Chicago, to serve as President for the 2024-25 membership year.

"It is truly an honor and privilege to serve as the I-AAA president for the upcoming year," stated Watson. "I look forward to working with my I-AAA peers and the great people at NACDA as we do our part in making sure our student-athletes are able to experience all the best that college athletics has to offer."
Watson takes the reins from Janet Cone, senior administrator for university enterprises and director of athletics at the University of North Carolina Asheville, who will transition to Past President. Serving alongside Watson will be:
  • 1st Vice President Brandon Martin, vice chancellor and director of athletics at the University of Missouri Kansas City;
  • 2nd Vice President Shaney Fink, director of athletics at Seattle University;
  • 3rd Vice President Ed McLaughlin, director of athletics at Virginia Commonwealth University;
  • Secretary Adrian Dowell, vice chancellor and director of athletics at University of Nebraska-Omaha; and
  • Treasurer Philip Hutcheson, director of athletics at Lipscomb University.
DI-AAA ADA welcomes three new directors of athletics to the 2024-25 Executive Committee:
  • Andrew Gavin, SIU Edwardsville (At-Large Rep and OVC);
  • Marvin Lewis, George Mason University (A-10); and
  • Scott Wiegandt, Bellarmine University (ASUN).
The remainder of the 2024-25 DI-AAA ADA Executive Committee consists of:
  • Jamie Boggs, Grand Canyon University (WAC);
  • Dan Butterly, (Big West Commissioner);
  • Scott Corley, Belmont University (The Valley); 
  • Tim Duncan, University of New Orleans (At-Large Rep and Southland);
  • Lenny Kaplan, New Jersey Institute of Technology (America East);
  • Bill Maher, Canisius College (Metro Atlantic); 
  • Mike Matoso, St. Mary's College of California (WCC);
  • Christina Roybal, Northern Kentucky University (Horizon); and
  • Paula Smith, University of California Irvine (Big West).
