AUGUSTA, GA -- Northern State University's (South Dakota)Â Jacksen Moni has been named the Men's Basketball Division II Player of the Week by the D2CIDA. The junior forward from Fargo, N.D., had an outstanding week in two wins, averaging 31 points and 10 rebounds per game.
He scored 31 points against both the University of Mary and St. Cloud State, giving him five 30+ point games on the season. Against UMary, he was 13-for-18 from the field with 13 rebounds, three assists and two blocks. He was 10-for-14 against St. Cloud State with seven boards and four assists. For the week, he shot 72 percent from the field, hit 15-of-16 free throws and added 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game.
Moni is currently third in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC)Â in both scoring and rebounding. He is also 12th in the league in field goal percentage, ninth in assists and 11th in blocks. The double-double against UMary was his seventh this season.
