AUGUSTA, GA -- Faith Simpson of Northwestern Oklahoma State University has been named the Women's Basketball Division II Player of the Week by the D2CIDA. The senior averaged 30.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game in two wins last week for the Lady Rangers.

Against Southwestern Oklahoma, Simpson set the single-game high for all of Division II as she scored 44 points in a 66-52 win. The native of Palisade, Neb., hit 17-of-25 shots from the floor and 10-of-11 free throws, adding a career-high 16 rebounds and two blocks. That put her over 2,000 points in her career. She then passed 1,000 career rebounds in her next game against East Central, scoring 17 points with five boards, three assists and two blocks.

Simpson currently leads the Great American Conference (GAC) and is ranked second in NCAA Division II in scoring at 21.2 points per game. She also leads the conference in field goal percentage, is fourth in rebounding and fourth in blocks.
