Emmanuel's Jones Captures Second D2CIDA Division II Player of the Week Honor

AUGUSTA, GA -- KJ Jones II of Emmanuel University (Georgia) won his second D2CIDA Men's Basketball Division II Player of the Week honor. The senior, who also won the national honor on November 21, averaged an eye-popping 36.5 points per game in two wins for the Lions, shooting 60 percent from the field and 96 percent from the line.

The guard from Atlanta, Ga., scored 43 points on 13-for-17 shooting, including six of seven 3-point attempts, in an 85-72 win over Lenoir-Rhyne (LR). He connected on 11-of-12 free throws and added six rebounds and four assists. He followed that with 30 points in a win over Augusta (Ga.), hitting 11-of-13 free throws with five rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Jones leads NCAA Division II (and is second in all three NCAA divisions) in scoring with 26.5 points per game. His 43 points against LR were the second-most in a game in Division II so far this season. He leads Conference Carolinas in scoring and free throw percentage and is sixth in assists, 11th in field goal percentage and 14th in steals.

The Division II Player of the Week is selected by the Division II Conference Information Directors Association (D2CIDA). A complete list of weekly award winners can be found here.
