AUGUSTA, GA -- Florida Southern College junior forward Luke Anderson has been named the Men's Basketball Division II Player of the Week by the D2CIDA. He led the Mocs to a pair of wins last week, averaging 25.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
The native of Lakeland, Fla., opened up with 27 points on 10-for-16 shooting with six rebounds, three assists and two steals in a 103-82 win over Lynn. He followed that with 24 points, 11 rebounds and three assists in a 100-98 win over Saint Leo. He shot 54 percent from the field on the week, including 7-of-11 3-point attempts (.636) and all six of his free throw attempts. He added 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per game.
Anderson is currently third in the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) in scoring. He is also 12th in the conference in rebounding and ninth in field goal percentage and 3-point percentage. Florida Southern currently leads the SSC with a 7-1 league record, 13-4 overall.
