CLEVELAND - The John McLendon Minority Scholarship Foundation has appointed 12 new board members for the upcoming academic year.
"We are thrilled to welcome our new members to the McLendon Foundation's board, injecting new energy and perspectives into our mission of creating positive change within the sports industry," stated Adrien Harraway, Senior Vice President/Director of the McLendon Foundation. "At the same time, we express our sincere appreciation to our emeritus board members for their dedicated service. Their invaluable contributions have paved the way for the Foundation's growth and impact."
The McLendon Foundation welcomes the following individuals to the Board of Directors:
- Charlie Besser, President and CEO at Intersport
- Jean Boyd, Deputy Athletics Director at Arizona State University
- Andy Danner, Chief Executive Officer at G3 Marketing | ProCamps
- Luke Fedlam, Partner at Porter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP
- Ashton Henderson, Deputy Athletics Director/Championship Resources at Michigan State
- Marcus Hilliard, Senior Associate Athletics Director/Chief of Staff at University of Tennessee
- Felicia Martin, Senior Vice President of Inclusion, Education and Community Engagement at NCAA
- Erik Moses, Executive Director/CEO at Fiesta Bowl Organization
- Tony Munafo, President and CEO at ProLink
- Jim Murphy, Senior Director of NCAA Sports Marketing at adidas
- Mike Ondrejko, President of Legends Global Sales
- Diana Sabau, Vice President and Athletics Director at Utah State University
Bob Vecchione, chief executive officer - emeritus at NACDA, has been named the McLendon Foundation's President. Vecchione replaces Andrea Williams, chief experience officer at the Utah Jazz, who has served as President since July of 2020. Â Dell Robinson, search associate-athletic practice at Spelman Johnson will remain the Foundation secretary.
The 12 incoming board members will be joined by five returning board members, comprised of: Marissa Gatson, executive director for diversity, equity and inclusion at Georgetown University; Martin Jarmond, director of athletics at UCLA; Jacqie McWilliams, commissioner at the CIAA;Â Mario Moccia, director of athletics at New Mexico State University;Â and Cory Moss, senior vice president & managing director, The Collegiate Licensing Company.
The McLendon Foundation would also like to recognize seven individuals who will be moving to emeritus status within the Foundation: Kevin Anderson, NACDA Past President;Â Dan Guerrero, NACDA Past President;Â Warde Manuel, Donald R. Shepherd director of athletics at the University of Michigan and 2020-21 NACDA President;Â Lee Reed, director of athletics at Georgetown University, NACDA Past President and McLendon Foundation Past President; Gene Smith, senior vice president & Wolfe Foundation Endowed athletics director at The Ohio State University and NACDA Past President; Mike Wilcox, chairman & chief executive officer, Wilcox Financial/Wilcox Sports Management; and Williams.
