AUGUSTA, GA -- Caitlin Kobiske of Southeastern Oklahoma State University was named the Division II women's basketball Player of the Week by D2CIDA. The sophomore forward from Keller, Texas, averaged an eye-popping 40.5 points per game in two outings last week.
She opened with a career-high 38 points on 15-for-18 shooting in a win over Southern Arkansas, adding seven rebounds. She followed that with another career-high, hitting 10-of-17 field goals and 23-of-25 free throws for 43 points in a win over Arkansas-Monticello. She set a new school record for made free throws in that contest, hitting 20 in a row at one point. She become only the fourth Division II player to record multiple games with at least 38 points this season and the only one to do so in back-to-back games.
Kobiske finished the week shooting 71.4 percent (25-of-35) from the floor and 86 percent (31-of-36) from the line. She added 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. She is currently fifth in the Great American Conference (GAC) in scoring and seventh in field goal percentage.
