AUGUSTA, GA -- Pittsburg State University (Kansas) junior guard Grace Pyle has been named the Division II Women's Basketball Player of the Week by the D2CIDA. Pyle led the Gorillas with 29 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in a pair of conference wins last week.
The native of McPherson, Kan., started with 17 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Newman, then set a new school record with 41 points in a win over Central Oklahoma. She hit 16-of-23 field goals in that game, 8-of-13 3-pointers and had six rebounds. The 41 points is tied for 10th on the MIAA all-time single-game scoring list and the most in any game in Division II so far this season.
Pyle currently leads the MIAA in scoring with 20 points per game which is also tied for eighth in NCAA Division II. She is also eighth in the conference in field goal percentage, sixth in 3-point percentage and 12th in rebounding.
