AUGUSTA, GA -- Bloomsburg University's (Pennsylvania)Â Katie Starr has been named the Division II women's basketball Player of the Week by the D2CIDA. The junior forward from Berwick, Pa., averaged 22.5 points and 10 rebounds in a pair of games for the Huskies. She scored 22 points with eight rebounds, four blocks and four steals against Daemen and had 23 points with 12 boards against Chestnut Hill.
For the week, Starr shot 61.7 percent (21-of-34) from the field with 3.0 steals and 2.5 blocks per game and was named the PSAC Defensive Player of the Week. She is currently ranked second in the conference and sixth in NCAA Division II in scoring with 24.2 points per game. She also leads the conference in rebounding and field goal percentage.
