Colorado Mesa's Reed named D2CIDA Women's Basketball Division II Player of the Week

AUGUSTA, GA -- Colorado Mesa University sophomore forward Olivia Reed has been named the the first women's basketball Division II Player of the Week by the D2CIDA for the 2023-24 season..

From Windor, Colo., Reed had four double-doubles in the Mavericks' first five games, averaging 19.4 points and 14.6 rebounds per outing as the team went 5-0. She scored 20 points with 14 boards against Simon Fraser and had a career-high 30 points with 16 boards against Alaska-Fairbanks. The 16 boards was also a career high until two games later when she grabbed 18 against Texas Permian Basin.

For the week, she shot 62 percent (41-of-66) from the field and added 16 assists, eight blocks and eight steals. She is currently third in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) in scoring and leads the league in rebounding.
