Northern State's Masten Named D2CIDA Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Week

AUGUSTA, GA -- Sam Masten of Northern State University was named the Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Week by the D2CIDA. The senior guard from Highlands Ranch, Colo., averaged a triple-double in a pair of games last week with 13.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 10.0 assists per game.

He began his week by leading the Wolves past No. 21 Minnesota Duluth 75-73 with 14 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. He then lit up the stat sheet in an 83-65 win over St. Cloud State with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists. That is one of only five triple-doubles in NCAA Division II so far this season and the only one in the NSIC. The 14 assists is also the most in a single game in the conference this season.

Masten currently leads the NSIC in assists and is ranked fourth in rebounding, fifth in field goal percentage and ninth in scoring.

The Division II Player of the Week is selected by the Division II Conference Information Directors Association (D2CIDA). A complete list of weekly award winners can be found here.
