AUGUSTA, GA -- Jake Hilmer of Upper Iowa University (UIU) has been named the Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Week by the D2CIDA for November 21-27. The senior guard from Walker, Iowa, had a remarkable week, averaging 27.7 points, 6.3 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game as the Peacocks went 3-0.
He scored 30 points against Wingate to open the Bahama House Shootout, then followed that with 34 points against Elizabeth City State. He opened the week with 19 points, hitting the game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer as UIU beat Winona State 82-81 in the NSICÂ opener for both teams.
Hilmer is currently third in the NSIC and 18th in NCAA Division II in scoring at 22.6 per game. He is also fifth in the league in assists and eighth in free throw percentage.
The Division II Player of the Week is selected by the Division II Conference Information Directors Association (D2CIDA).
