AUGUSTA, GA -- Ty'zhea Hawkins of Adelphi University has been named the Division II Women's Basketball Player of the Week by the D2CIDA for November 21-27. The graduate student from Brentwood, N.Y., was an offensive juggernaut for the Panthers, averaging 28 points per game in two wins while shooting 67 percent from the field.
The guard opened with 24 points on 8-for-13 shooting in a 70-64 win over Le Moyne, then scored a career-high 32 points in a non-conference win over Bridgeport. That was the first 30-point game for a Panther since 2019.
For the week, she hit 22-of-33 field goals (.667) and all nine of her free throw attempts, adding 6.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. She is currently second in the NE10 and 15th in NCAA Division II in scoring with 21.2 points per game. She is also second in the conference in field goal percentage and tied for sixth in free throw percentage.
