CABMA Announces 2021 Award Winners

CLEVELAND - The College Athletic Business Management Association (CABMA) announced the recipients of its 2021 Awards. Brad Strickland, UCF and Jude Caserta, Retired, are recipients of the 25-Year of Service Award; Martha Perez-Schmitz, Providence College, is the Emerging Leader Award recipient; Robyn Montoya, Commerce Bank, is the Associate Member Award recipient and Mario Morris, University of Notre Dame, is the recipient of the Manager of the Year Award.

"On behalf of CABMA, the Executive Committee, and the Awards Committee, I want to congratulate our 2021 award winners for their contributions to our Association and the profession," stated Stacy Martin, CABMA Awards Committee Chair and senior associate commissioner, CFO at the American Athletic Conference. "It is our pleasure to present awards to these well-deserving individuals. Our goal is to recognize outstanding leadership, service, and tradition within our industry and these individuals exemplify what their respective awards are about. CABMA is proud to annually celebrate its recognition of members and affiliates who continually advance the mission of the Association and enhance the experience of those involved in the field of intercollegiate athletics." 

25-Years of Service Award

This award, first presented in 1993, is given to individuals who have been an active member for 25 years and who have demonstrated outstanding service to CABMA and/or the field of intercollegiate athletics.

Emerging Leader Award

Awarded to a member of CABMA who has demonstrated a desire and commitment to work for the betterment of the profession of intercollegiate athletics through CABMA committee involvement.

Manager of the Year

CABMA's Manager of the Year is chosen annually by the membership from nominations of individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the profession of athletics business management and who are CABMA members.

Associate Member Award

Associate Members are individuals who, in the opinion of the Executive Committee have a strong interest in the objectives and programs of CABMA, but who do not meet the criteria for regular members.

Recipient: Robyn Montoya, AVP, Prepaid Card Partnerships, Commerce Bank
